The Idea behind the WonderRadio was to create a SDR platform which would be affordable and therefore allow many more of us to experience and contribute to this amazing development in Amateur Radio.

 

In order for the radio to be affordable it was clear that all the processing needed to be inside the “PC” found in almost all ham shacks,

This also made perfect sense because of the existence of numerous open source software tools available in the market which are absolutely amazing and ever evolving due to the valuable contributions by fellow hams.

 

Moreover, with today’s PC processing power of Dual and Quad core CPUs running in Gigahertz and amazing soundcards with floating point DSPs and ADCs which provide a dynamic range of over 100Dbs for less than $1000!!!!!

 

The WonderRadio is not an attempt to reinvent the wheel but an amalgamation of a wealth of knowledge available on SDRs today.
